''Coenobita cavipes Stimpson probably was the only species of this genus reported from India (Ajmal Khan & Natarajan, 1984). For many years C. violascens has been considered as a synonym of C. cavipes. However, a later report by Nakasone (1988) considered C. cavipes (type locality, Japanese island of Okinawa) and C. violascens (type locality, Red Sea) as distinct species, which demands further examination of Indian species of the genus Coenobita.''
日本早已把Coenobita cavipes (凹足陸寄居蟹)和藍紫陸寄居蟹/深紫陸寄居居蟹(Coenobita violascens)分為2種不同品種, 但目前台灣還是.....時有凹足, 時有藍紫陸, 時沒有凹足......時把凹足當藍紫陸......台灣何時才完成這分類呢?
